The 29-year-old singer Luke Combs broke down in tears when he got a surprise invitation to join the Grand Ole Opry membership on Tuesday.
While Luke was performing his 16th performance at Tennessee institution in Nashville, the trio of country veterans’ 33-year-old Chris Janson, 54-year-old Craig Morgan and 72-year-old John Conlee joined the singer on stage and made an announcement.
The trio first told him that they are just joining for a joint musical performance, but then they revealed the real reason after joining him on stage. Conlee said that Luke has a fantastic career and Grand Ole Opry wants him to know that we love him.
After that Morgan and Janson asked the young singer if he would like to become the next member of Grand Ole Opry?
Luke got so surprised after listening to this offer that he started crying while he was on the stage and then bent down and held on to his knees.
Conlee said that this must be his way of saying yes and that’s when Luke got up to wipe his tears and gave three of them a hug. Luke said are you people serious because if not then it’s really mean.
The next day Luke expressed his feelings on Instagram about how his life changed in one night.
He wrote that he doesn’t have enough words to express what yesterday meant to him as he was invited to be the next member for the Grand Ole Opry and in country music, it is the biggest honor one can have.
He further thanked the trio for sharing this wonderful moment with him and also thanked his fiancé for standing by his side throughout all this. Luke is thrilled to have this experience as it is an opportunity for him, which he’ll cherish for his life.
