Ride-sharing app Lyft is asking people with offensive real names to change their names as it “doesn’t align with community guidelines”.
The app is giving two days to its users to change their offensive names and many took to social media to complain about it.
When we took a look at those tweets that people shared, we were left in stitches. People are asking how can they change their legal name.
Some even asked Lyft to get their mind out of the gutter. Here are some of the hilarious tweets that people tweeted to show their disappointment.
1 Hey @Lyft @AskLyft Community guidelines are great and all, but it’s ironic asking us for respect in the community when you flagged my REAL last name as a violation
2 My name – Nicole Cumming – has been flagged as inappropriate by Lyft. I’m not thrilled with my name either, but I had no idea it violated Community Guidelines.

4 Hey @lyft if I can’t use my legal name what exactly would you like me to use…
5 Dear @lyft My last name really is ‘Cocks’. How would you like me to proceed?
6 Same thing happened to me, but I knew exactly why they flagged my name. (I contacted them via @AskLyf and they’re looking into it.) I’m guessing it’s Scunthorpe Problem
7 Hello @lyft You recently sent me an email to change the name on my account because it’s not in line with your community guidelines. My name is Bubunyo and if you are expecting me to use an English name, it won’t happen cos I’m not English. You might as well just ban me.
Yours.
8 Hey, @lyft I realize it might be hard to believe, but it’s really my name, and you need to get your mind out of the gutter.
