Watch Mackintosh’s hill house now open for visit

The exotic domestic piece of art by Charles Rennie Mackintosh will soon be available for the public to watch it after the work is completed but now that is encapsulated in a box just to protect it.
The drastic rain and winds affected the Hill House in Helensburgh and now it was encapsulated in a box to protect and renovate it.
It was destroyed from inside and outside.
The owners of this Hill House The national trust for Scotland says that they have tried to save it and this method is an innovative one. They decided to reopen it on 8th June.This Hill House was exclusively designed and built-in 1904. The owner who is known as Mackintosh built this Hill House for a publisher hailing from Glasgow and his named is Walter Blackie. As it was built by a famous architecture so it was depicted as a perfect house.
The fittings and aura of this Hill House were considered as a domestic house and Mackintosh did an amazing effort to design it. It was considered and said as a “home for future”. But now due to rain and winds, it got affected and was destroying thus it was protected and was put in a box.
The Owners aim that this house will be protected by the box which will not allow the water to penetrate into it.
As portland cement was used it the making of this house due to which water penetrated in the sandstone.
Moreover, the winds deteriorated the walls. All these conditions were a threatening effect on the survival of Hill House.With the protection of the box, this house is covered but due to the transparent box, it is visible as well.
The box has a steel roof with a sheet attached on it.
due to which it gets support and stands still. Owing to this box only 13% of rain will enter the house but due to airy nature, it will dry out. It will be visible to the public even during conservation.Along with walkways and roofs on the upper level, a cafe is also designed for the public who will come as visitors and the project will cost almost 4.5 million pounds.
