Madonna has once again apologized to her fans as she canceled her ninth date of the Madame X Tour due to health concerns.
“I must put my body first,” the 61-year-old American singer said as she revealed she’d be canceling her first out of 15 dates at London Palladium.
As for the reason for her ninth cancellation related to her Madame X Tour, which consists of 83 dates, the ‘Like a Virgin’ hitmaker said her doctors insisted she goes on bed rest.
“I am deeply sorry that I have to cancel my concert scheduled for Monday January 27th in London. Under doctors guidance I have been told to rest for a few days,” Madonna wrote in her lengthy Instagram post.
“As you all know, I have injuries that have plagued me since the beginning of the tour but I must always listen to my body and put my health first.
“The last thing I want to do is disappoint my fans or compromise the integrity of my show. So I will keep going until I cannot.”
She also promised everyone to be refunded the amount they paid for the tickets and said she was deeply sorry about the turn of the events.
“As always- anyone who purchased a ticket will be refunded for tickets purchased that evening. The show on Wednesday January 29th will go as scheduled,” the singer added.
“Again I am deeply sorry to disappoint anyone and please know that it hurts me more than you can imagine to have to cancel any shows. Thank you again for your understanding.”
After Madonna’s apology went viral, the majority of her fans wished her well and accepted her apology.
However, not everyone agrees that canceling dates one after another is good for her tour and for people who had already made plans, including flight and hotel bookings, well in advance.
The canceled performance in London followed less than a week after the star canceled her date in Lisbon, Portugal, with just a 45-minute notice.
