Madonna who tested positive for COVID-19 antibodies spoke about how she felt about it and thought it was “a very bad flu” before the result came out.
The 61-year-old singer caught the novel coronavirus during the end of her Paris leg of ‘Madame X’ tour but she is “healthy and well” now.
She shared a screenshot of an article about research for a coronavirus vaccine on Instagram and wrote, “I’m Grateful that I can be a part of supporting Research to Find the cure for COVID -19!! And just to clear things up for people who would rather believe sensationalist headlines than do their own research about the nature of this virus—I am not currently sick.”
“When you test positive for anti-bodies it means you HAD the virus which I. clearly did as I was sick at the end of my tour in Paris over 7 weeks ago along with many other artists in my show but at the time.”
“We all thought we had a very bad flu. Thank God we are all healthy and well now. Hope that clears things up for the bandwagon jumpers!! Knowledge is Power! #covid19.”
Madonna shared the news of her testing positive for coronavirus antibodies in April saying she would ‘breath in the COVID-19 air.’ In a video posted on her Instagram, she said, “I took a test the other day, and I found out that I have the antibodies,”
“So tomorrow I’m just going to go for a long drive in the car, I’m going to roll down the window and I’m going to breathe in the COVID-19 air. Yup. I hope the sun is shining.”
Antibody tests can tell you if you’ve ever had the virus as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said on their website, “A positive test result shows you have antibodies that likely resulted from infection with SARS-CoV-2, or possibly a related coronavirus.”
“It’s unclear if those antibodies can provide protection (immunity) against getting infected again,” the agency said. “This means that we do not know at this time if antibodies make you immune to the virus.”
