A MAGA-loving beauty queen was stripped of her title as Miss Michigan after making “insensitive comments” about black people and Islam and refusing to try on a hijab.
According to 20-year-old Republican Kathy Zhu, her Miss Michigan crown was taken away from her due to her ‘insensitive’ tweets and the fact that she didn’t want to try on a hijab.
Following the rejection by one side, Zhu quickly shared her joy as she got accepted into #WomenforTrump Coalition Advisory Board.
“I am so excited to now be part of the #WomenforTrump Coalition Advisory Board! Let’s get Trump re-elected for 2020,” the young woman proudly tweeted.
Despite the backlash Zhu faced from the Democrats, TeamTrump praised the 20-year-old and branded her “a patriot who has continued to stand for American values despite being stripped of her crown.”
Addressing the public at a recent Women for Trump Luncheon, Zhu claimed “there were so many times that my account got hacked from the left” because the leftists “wanted to ridicule me.”
The young political commentator went viral after announcing she was kicked from the Miss World America contest with her crown being taken away because of her social media content.
In the e-mail sent to Zhu, the event organizers allegedly claimed that the girl’s “social media accounts contain offensive, insensitive and inappropriate content” and violated “MWA’s Rules and Conditions, specifically the contest requirement of ‘being of good character and whose background is not likely to bring into disrepute Miss World America.’”
Following the announcement that her title had been taken away, Zhu tweeted:
“Miss World America’s State/National/Chief Director accused me of being racist, Islamaphobic, and insensitive. They stripped me of my Miss Michigan title due to my refusal to try on a hijab in 2018, my tweet about black on black gun violence, and ‘insensitive’ statistical tweets.”
Speaking to Detroit Free Press, Zhu claimed that she’s seen the same thing happen before and claimed that “it is just not okay to be prejudiced against people who just have a different political view as you.”
As the 20-year-old added, she believes she was dropped from the contest because of her 2018 tweet that followed after she refused to wear a hijab during campus’ celebration of World Hijab Day.
“So you’re telling me that it’s now just a fashion accessory and not a religious thing? Or are you just trying to get women used to being oppressed under Islam?” Zhu wrote in her tweet.
In another tweet, she confronted a Twitter user who blamed white police officers for the deaths of blacks by writing: “Did you know the majority of black deaths are caused by other blacks? Fix problems within your own community before blaming others.”
Defending her point of view, the 20-year-old recently tweeted:
“Someone called me an Islamophobic for not wanting to put on a hijab. Someone called me a racist because I recognize that black people kill more blacks than the police do. Good luck to those who are as gullible as this.”
