There was a Japanese start-up named, “Hoshinchu” that created bonsai trees to float.
It did so by harnessing the power of repelling magnets. This helped the plants to levitate.
You might be wondering what is magnetic levitation? It is also known as magnetic suspension. This is used when an object is left suspended without any support.
The only support is magnetic fields. One cannot achieve magnetic levitation just by using any two combinations like fixed magnets and electric charges.
The startup has already accumulated half-a-million dollars in order to fund its new project. The new project is ‘Air Bonsai’. It is a botanical art with a bit of modern technology added. This helps the plants to float with the competence of magnetic levitation.
The projects Air Bonsai has two major elements. The first one is a floating plant. The plants carry a magnet that is in-built. It should not exceed a weight of 250 grams. It has to be carefully balanced and should at least be up to 6 cms.
Then comes the “energy-base”. It has to be run in an AC adapter and also has a built-in magnet. Both of the magnets consist of the same poles.
You need to make sure that the repelling forces are already balanced. This will make the Bonsai trees to float. They will float on an invisible cushion that contains magnetic energy.
At the time of crowdfunding, Hoshinchu was able to gather a lot of million U.S. dollars. It was based on the project launching and the initial mission was only 80,0000 USD. This was the aim of January.
This start-up has its own goal to ship its products by August.
