A polyamorous triad has spoken out and defended their unconventional relationship by explaining how happy they are living together.
35-year-old Jimmy and 31-year-old Chacha met 25-year-old Summer and invited her into their relationship after they had already been together for three years.
Now, the triad lives together and makes unanimous decisions concerning their lives. Their happiness even influenced Summer’s father who admitted he and his wife are also looking at options of starting a polyamorous relationship of their own.
“We’re always about achieving unanimous decisions and going with that, I think that will always be the case,” Summer said in an interview with Barcroft TV.
As for their future plans, the trio plans to tie the knot(s) in a ceremony in Europe after Jimmy proposed to both of his girlfriends at once.
“Our plan is to get married on December 15, that will be here in the United States for friends and family,” he explained.
“And then we will have our official documented wedding in Europe, which will likely be in Amsterdam, on the 20th April next year.”
While Summer’s and Chacha’s families are relatively supportive of their relationship, Jimmy admitted his family, mother in particular, is the least approving.
“She thinks these two girls are controlling me and I’m this innocent guy that’s forced into this sex triangle,” he said.
Despite trying to make people around them understand how much they love each other, the trio expressed they often receive hate comments from strangers.
“Folks will say that we are afraid of commitment and that’s why we’re doing this,” Summer added.
“We’re happy for each other and we are happy together and not a lot of people understand that.”
