A man from Florida was arrested for domestic battery after he threw a cookie at his girlfriend.
41-year-old Wade Smith of Zephyrhills was taken into custody after deputies at the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office were called to the house he shares with his girlfriend, according to WFLA.
His girlfriend reportedly told investigators that he “threw a hard piece of cookie and hit her in the forehead,” which officers noted was red when they responded to the scene.
Smith, according to the news station, admitted to authorities that he threw a cookie at her. The type of cookie is unclear.
According to the online records from the sheriff’s office Smith was booked at the Pasco County Jail in Land O’Lakes on $500 bond.
Reddit user MReitman19 commented: ““The type of cookie is unclear” that made me laugh because it seems like they are going to do a test to see what kind it is.”
Another wrote: “Maybe if it was oatmeal instead of chocolate chip it would of been petty assault instead of domestic battery?”
A third said: “I’ve got a buddy that was arrested for throwing a bean burrito from Taco Bell at his baby momma. It was after she threw a lamp. America is a funny place sometimes.”
Another user commented: “Remember kids… If you throw a cookie at someone without their consent, you will go to jail.”
