A 65-year-old man has been bitten in the private area by a 5ft python after it managed to escape from his neighbor’s house through a drain.
Unfortunately, the snake ended up in the elderly man’s apartment and took its time in the toilet.
According to police, the 65-year-old had just sat down at around 6 am Monday when he suddenly felt a sharp ‘pinch’ on his genitals.
The stabbing sensation made him jump to his feet and that’s when he found the albino python looking back at him. Yikes!
The elderly man immediately called police, who arrived with a local reptile expert to get rid of the reptile from its newly found throne.
The man was taken to a hospital where he received treatment for his minor injuries. Doctors said that pythons are not venomous but there was still a risk that the wound from the bite could become infected from the bacteria in the toilet.
After being cleaned, the python was later returned to its owner, the elderly man’s neighbor.
Police said that the 24-year-old owner keeps 11 non-venomous snakes in specially-designed drawers and cages in his flat. He was not aware the albino python managed to escape until officers brought it back.
Police said the owner had been referred to prosecutors for negligent bodily harm but it is not clear if he will be charged.
Animal services were notified about the presence of potentially dangerous snakes at the 24-year-old’s address.
One person commented: “Oh I don’t know I’ve worked with many snakes, unfortunately they’ve never ended up in the toilet. More’s the pity!!”
Another wrote: “I thought for a minute I was looking at weird number 2……thank the Lord its a snake, Im thinking Dude, bet that took a load off.”
