“My wife complained that there was a lot of roaches invading our garden,” Cesar shared. “She is scared of them and begged me to destroy their nest under the ground once and for all.”

At first, he used an insecticide spray to kill the critters but the roaches were only disturbed and some emerged from their hiding place. That’s when the truck driver took a different approach.

Cesar poured some gasoline into the hole and set it on fire. However, his plan immediately backfired as methane gas in the insect repellent had amassed in lethal doses in an air pocket under his lawn.

“I wish I’d thought this through before. I had no idea that this could happen. Luckily the damage was only contained on the lawn,” he added.

“If I had been standing closer or the table had hit me it could have been fatal.”

Authorities confirmed they have launched an investigation after examining the home footage. Meanwhile, Cesar admitted he is still clearing up the mess he made.
