Man Bought A Photo Of A Bridge That’s Just Outside His Window

Stuart Slicer spent a significant amount of money during a ‘boozy’ charity auction to buy a massive photo of Scotland’s Forth Bridge.

It would’ve been quite an addition to his living room – only if the room already hadn’t a direct view of the structure.

His son, Stuart Jr., shared a video of the print on his Twitter account Murphy Green, dedicated to the family dog of the same name.

“So grandad was at a sportsman’s dinner and bought a 10ft X 4ft picture of the forth rail bridge. Seemingly he forgot he could just open da blinds. Granny not happy with him,” the tweet said.

“He still thinks it’s a great idea pal,” he later added. “Granny is ready to chuck it and him into the garage.”

Speaking to the Scottish Sun, Stuart Sr. said: “I genuinely thought that I would bring it home and the wife would be alright about putting it up.”

The chap probably forgot their home has been facing the very same bridge for more than three decades.

And as you would have guessed, Stuart Sr. admitted that he had taken “a few sherbets” before he bid on the bridge’s colossal print.

In another photo posted by Stuart Jr., it can be seen how the print has dwarfed almost everything in the room.

“He phone dad to come down because he had a surprise and I can assure you it was a big surprise. Grandad looks tiny next to it,” dog Murphy wrote.

The old man, who’s a train driver, quipped that they couldn’t see the bridge because the fog was very thick last month “so at least with that photo we would always see it.”

The story got so viral that even the Forth Bridge took to Twitter applaud the impulsive purchase.

It was later revealed that Stuart Sr. had also purchased a tour package for the same bridge during the auction – despite the fact that he crosses it every day while going for work.

Speaking to the Scottish Sun, Stuart Sr. said he and his wife are going to sell the print and donate all the proceeds.
