A 30-year-old man was taken to a hospital after a disturbing prank left him needing his whole bowel removed due to a ‘rectal blowout.
’
His colon burst after his friends placed the nozzle of an air compressor into his anus and inflated it.
It turned out that his case was not the first. Doctors said that two other men had similar experiences. One patient had pressurized air sprayed into his backside while the other suffered the pain at the hands of thieves.
Experts warned air can also be damaging as solid objects. Doctors from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Rishikesh and Maulana Azad Medical College in New Delhi wrote the report.
They said patients suffered high-pressure injuries which were usually “confined to battlefields.”
Life-changing injuries sustained by patients should serve as a warning of the dangers of misusing industrial apparatuses.
The authors wrote in the report that the air flow produced by an air compressor is at least 100 times stronger than the equipment considered safe for a colonoscopy.
The recent patient had ‘multiple colonic perforations’ and surgeons found fecal matter covering his other organs.
According to the report, the injury was “caused by his perverted friends who put the nozzle of an air pipe (tire air pump) into his anus and inflated it.”
In another study, a 34-year-old man was rushed to hospital after attempting to stop a robbery. He had what experts called a ‘rectal blowout’ that left him needing most of his colon removed. He had suffered an “an alleged compressed air insult by robbers while thwarting the robbery. The robbers had thrust the compressed air nozzle into his anus.”
In another report, a 24-year-old man was taken to hospital with “alleged history of accidental injury to the anus by compressed air jet.”
