A civil rights lawyer from Mississippi claims that his client who is a 28 years old black man was allegedly beaten up by white cops at a traffic stop.
The law enforcement officer came back onto him saying he appeared high on drugs and was resisting an arrest.
Attorney Carlos Moore who is working on the case shared a photo on Monday where David Logan is sitting on a bench with his hands cuffed behind his back, one of his eyes injured and streams of blood dropping through his face onto his blue colored shorts and bare chest after he was arrested on July 18.
According to the Mississippi’s Yalobusha County’s officers, the 28 years old tried to resist arrest and also tried to run away. On the contrary, attorney Carlos said he did walk away but he was not running away on the pavements of the county.
Logan who has been injured severely said the law enforcement officers used a short gun to hit him. They had his hands cuffed behind his back first while he was unarmed and then they beat him up.
He was then taken to 2 different hospitals to get treatment as he suffered a fracture in his face just above his left eye.
His attorney explained that the attack on his client had really affected him as Logan now suffers from double vision and has been having problems in sleeping.
Moore said, “They hit him to a point until he was out of his clothes. This can only be explained as some inhuman act.”
Moore said he has no idea who took his client’s pictures while he was in custody. The officers, on the contrary, said that Logan tried to escape and resisted arrest and in the chaos, two officers have been injured too. He said that the shotgun was used to arrest him but he was not beaten by it. ‘
