A father who is just 48 years old was welcomed back home with all the pomp and show by his own parade.
He had defeated the virus that left him sick and on a ventilator bed for days.
Both Paul Lee and his wife Julie began to suffer from a symptom that resembled coronavirus on the 16th of March.
Julie and Paul had both tested positive and were admitted to the COVID-19 section of the hospital. Julie recovered soon and was sent back home just in a few days.
Paul on the other side suffered from a more serious condition. His condition kept getting worse.
Paul had been diagnosed with prostate cancer last year. His condition after testing positive with COVID-19 got worse as he could not even talk or walk.
Julie said she was sure it was not happening because of cancer because it had never happened before.
Lee, who is father to 8 kids, was brought to a local hospital as he was needed to be placed on a ventilator on the 24th of March.
Looking at his worsening condition, the friends and neighbors of the family decided to pitch in for them in the tough times.
One of their neighbors said that because the family was put under quarantine, none of them could go out and buy groceries.
This is why their neighbors chipped in and bought the necessary items. They had taken on the responsibility of getting them every meal.
The neighbors had taken the responsibility to help the family. They would cook them food, and pay the grocery delivery service too.
They have also set up a GoFundMe page for the family and have been able to raise @$1700 till now.
The family that had been trying to cope up with the absence of Paul had placed his pictures around the house so that they could feel that he is around.
When he finally defeated the virus and cancer at the same time, the neighbors felt he deserved a grand celebration and so he was welcomed home with a parade.
