Diseases tend to affect our mental and physical well being.
With age, these diseases and ailments tend to take a toll on our lives, making us physically or mentally unstable to work.
That’s what happened with a 65-years-old pensioner who was suffering from diabetes.
The pensioner who was waiting for an appointment to discuss the allowance collapsed and died at the spot after been unfit to work.
The 65-years-old was standing in the queue at the Jobcentre in the Stepney Street Llanelli. People started noticing him when he was found slumped in his chair around 9:30 am.
Staff and customers rushed to reach out to the man, but he wasn’t responding, and that made everyone scared. They tried to give CPR, but nothing was working, and they soon called the ambulance.
The paramedics declared them dead at the spot.
A witness said that he doesn’t know the man personally, but the person sitting next to him knew him since childhood, and that made him sad to know about the old man’s death.
He later said that the man was suffering from diabetes and has been declared unfit to work earlier this year.
The witness also re accounts for the scene and said that when the ambulance came, everyone was just praying that he should be alive.
Everyone was stunned and shocked at the scene as they have never experienced such tragedy at their workplace. Soon after his death, the Jobcentre was shut down.
According to the ambulance spokesperson, they reached the spot on Friday 13 November around 9:33 am after a case of medical attention was reported. They sent one rapid response vehicle, one emergency vehicle and a special medical vehicle to the spot.
But everything went in vain, as the man was already dead even before the staff and customers noticed.
