A Man Died After Swallowing 246 Bags of Cocaine on a Flight

We know that carrying drugs in or over the borders is considered illegal. To smuggle drugs people apply several different methods. Sometimes they get successful in smuggling the drugs but the majority of the times they fail.

Here is another story where a man who was probably trying to smuggle 246 packets of cocaine by hiding them inside his body, died on the flight.

Yes, you read it right. He did not have the packets hidden inside his clothes but the packets were hidden inside his skin.

As per Sonora, Mexico’s state’s general attorney’s office report, the man had boarded his flight from Bogotá, Colombia, and the announcement of his death was made at the Hermosillo airport.

The passenger whose name was Udo N was a 42 years old man who was traveling to Japan and that is when it happened.

The crew saw something was wrong with the man and instantly were forced to make an emergency landing because the man needed medical attention.

He was pronounced dead soon after the emergency landing. His body was then taken to the hospital for postmortem.

In his post mortem test, doctors found packets of cocaine inside his intestine. There were not only 1 or a couple more packets but there were 256 bloody packets of the drug.

The doctors said that he died due to the same. Because of the presence of so many packets inside his stomach, he suffered from the hypertensive crisis, which caused cerebral edema, that became the cause of his death.

The statement from attorney general’s office said: “the flight on the way to Japan requested to make an emergency landing as they said a passenger is a having seizure and they are not capable of dealing with it.”
