A man has taken his rescue dog on an 18,000-mile walk across the world after realizing his life-changing journey would be more fun in two.
While most dog walkers go around the neighborhood for a daily dose of exercise with their furry friends, Texas-based Tom Turcich has brought the idea of walking your dog to a whole new level.
Mr. Turcich is an adventurist who embarked on a World Walk journey back in 2015. After several months and 2,000 miles later, however, he decided it might be a good idea to have a companion join him on his adventure.
And so, the man paid a visit to a shelter where he met a 3-month-old pup, Savannah, whom he immediately connected with according to The Dodo.
Since then, the pair has been walking together across seven continents and 37 countries, capturing priceless moments on the way.
“I don’t know exactly what it was about Savannah, but she was the only dog I felt a connection with. I just had a feeling we’d get along,” Turcich said in an interview with The Dodo.
“During our daily walks of about eight hours, she is diligently by my side if we’re on a road with traffic, or hurrying from one interesting scent to the next if she’s off-leash on a country lane.point 333 |

As the man added, Savannah, who is otherwise a calm and kind dog, knows how to stand guard and protect their campsite during the nights they spend in their tent.
In the following years, Turcich aims to end his long walk across the globe by starting yet another journey that will take him and Savannah all the way from Azerbaijan to Mongolia, and later across Australia, before returning to the US.
