The story of a weak donkey and hungry wolf has quickly spread across the internet as it shows the beautiful souls of animals.
A man living in the village of Patok in Albania captured a wolf and kept it in a small pen with no space to turn around.
After many days in the cage, the wolf just sat alone and it became evident that it was hungry. So the man decided to put his old, weak donkey inside, thinking it would be the best meal for the wild wolf.
The donkey, which had been neglected and exploited by its owner, was too old and weak. The owner expected the canine to take the opportunity to have a delicious meal and waited for the wolf to attack the donkey.
But something different happened.
The two animals ended up bonding and they created an amazing friendship.
Their story got out to the public and people signed petitions and wrote letters to the government calling for the release of the two poor animals.
Overwhelmed by the outcry, the Ministry of Albania ordered the man to release the animals. The donkey was to go to open green pastures while the wolf was to return to the wild. The owner obliged and the people couldn’t have been more delighted.
Reports said that the wolf visits the pasture to see the donkey from time to time. It is understandable why people have fallen in love with their story.
Their friendship is beautiful and admirable. It is something us humans can learn a thing or two.
