A man has been slammed with a hefty fine after he was stopped by police officers as he was driving an unregistered car so filthy he couldn’t even see outside properly.
The incident occurred in Brisbane, Australia, when the 57-year-old messy driver was pulled over after cops noticed the vehicle was filled with garbage.
According to the police and the pictures they took, the man’s Ford Falcon was occupied by cardboard boxes, shopping bags, empty cans and bottles, and various types of trash making it impossible for the driver to see out of the vehicle safely.
In addition to driving a filthy car, the driver was also charged with driving an unregistered vehicle.
“The car is full of rubbish,” one of the officers was heard saying in the footage they captured upon the inspection of the car.
“As you can see the gentleman inside the car can’t see anything. We have got serious concerns about his visibility. He’s got no visibility on sides, no visibility off the rear at all.”
Soon enough, the cops got all the proof needed to fine the man $311 for driving a car with an obstructed view as well as $427 because his vehicle wasn’t registered.
After the pictures went viral, viewers slammed the reckless driver for putting himself and other traffic participants at risk.
Others, however, pointed out that the driver was likely a hoarder or a person with mental issues who doesn’t understand the seriousness of his actions.
Whatever the case, it is important to have a clear front, side, and rear view when in a vehicle to promote safe driving.
