A wild owl with two broken wings rescued by a man in Slovenia who found it sitting on a tree.
When a man from Novo Mesto, Slovenia, was picking mushrooms in the forest, he noticed an owl who was sitting on a tree.
As he approached the owl, it didn’t fly away. Then, he found out the reason why it didn’t fly away.
“A week ago, when I was picking mushrooms in Slovenian woods, I saw a large owl sitting on a dead tree,” the man captioned the video he shared on YouTube.
“She wasn’t scared of me, so I come closer and I started to cuddle her. It was so cute.”
As the man petted the owl, it let the man pet its face. “But something was wrong with her,” the man wrote.
“I picked her up and we went to the veterinarian, who saw that she has broken both wings. Yesterday they operate her, and by 4 months they will release her to the wild. The vet said that this owl is named Slovenian “Kozač” (Strix uralensis) and are only 600 couples leaving in Slovenia.”
“Please do not kill owls, they are so cute and harmless….Thanks” he wrote.
Later, he updated the Internet users as he wrote: “The owl completely recovered from two broken wings, and after 5-6 months in animal hospital and recovery, they release her back to nature. And it wasn’t blind. ;)”
