The founder and creator of the Hug Train, Arie Moyal, goes on a hugging tour to spread love.
The Hug Train, which is a national tour of free hugs, was founded by Arie Moyal to promote mental health awareness.
Arie travels across the country and gives free hugs to strangers to spread love.
The Hug Train was founded in 2009 and Arie has been traveling across the country to give free hugs since then.
Arie said: “I saw the opportunity to make a difference and I took it.”
“That’s the continued impetus for the trip, to take a small action, to break down social isolation so that everyone benefits from an optimal state of mental wellness”, he added.
Arie says loneliness is a serious problem and the purpose of the Hug Train is to take on loneliness so people can feel better.
He says that he doesn’t do this to get as many hugs as possible but he does it for people who don’t have anyone.
He is available for people who just want a hug and who understand the value of a hug.
He says he just wants to be there for people who don’t have anyone and to have a conversation about loneliness so they can feel better.
He said: “Consent is my number one. I don’t ask. I don’t solicit. This is my offer. If you take me up on it, I know you have decided to take me up on it. It’s not because I put you on the spot.”
Arie travels across the country and holds a “Free Hugs” sign. He says some don’t know how to respond and they just give him a smile while some hug and thank him.
