A man who participated in the ‘Gorilla Glue Challenge’ ended up in the ER after gluing a plastic cup to his face.
The bizarre incident takes place in Los Angeles where Len Martin decided to glue a cup to his face using Gorilla Glue after following the example of Tessica Brown, a 40-year-old mother-of-five who went viral after revealing her hair had been stuck in place for over a month after she attempted to set her hair using the superglue.
As Martin insisted, he believed that the woman was just overreacting and lying about not being able to remove the glue from her scalp and hair.
In an attempt to expose the truth, Martin went on to use the powerful adhesive to glue a plastic cup to his face believing he would be able to remove it without a problem.
Needless to say, the Los Angeles man was in for some big regrets as he found out that there was no way he could get rid of the cup on his own.
After paying a visit to the ER, the Gorilla Glue challenger was told he would have to undergo a painful procedure to have the object removed.
“I thought that chick with the gorilla glue was making that story up…but no..its real… I dont kno why I tried it..now they talking bout cutting the tip of my lips off in surgery…yall pray for me,” Martin wrote in an update.
The man also spoke out to WKBN only to admit he didn’t have any idea things would end this bad for him.
“I thought she was just playing around because I didn’t think it was that serious,” he told the publication.
“I actually tried it out before and it actually didn’t do anything for me… So I was like, ‘Okay, she’s lying’ and there are all these challenges going on so I was like, ‘Okay I’m going to try it,’ and it went backwards… I thought I could lick it off kind of to moisten it and pull it right off but that didn’t work.”
According to the reports, the doctors eventually managed to remove the cup from Martin’s face. The procedure, however, was far from painless.
“This is definitely not one to try. Let’s just stop this now… It’s very harmful,” Martin said as he warned other people against participating in the Gorilla Glue Challenge.
