Be it a human or an animal, if they are working for the civil defenses forces then they are giving their lives for the welfare of the society.
Their lives are as precious as of any other officer’s is.
They are trained, they are fit, and they struggle to become who they are just like a human. No the life of a police dog is not easy either just like a police officer.
Considering this, a law was designed and passed in order to protect the police animals. The law stated that physically harming a police dog will be a punishable offense. And for the first time after the law came into the act, it is being implemented.
A man stabbed an on-duty police dog in the head and now he is being jailed for his actions under the Finn’s Law.
Daniel O’Sullivan is a 29 man who belongs to Litherland. While in an attempt to save himself from the police, he stabbed the police dog in the head as his handler was trying to make the arrest.
He accepted that he attacked the dog Audi and now is being jailed under Finn’s Law.
Daniel O’Sullivan had attacked Audi on 21st of July and Paul Glenn, the Judge who was working on his case sentenced him to 21 months behind the bars.
The department of police said that Audi was hurt severely but the hit was fortunate that his injury did not cost him much. He could have died or have gotten blind by the same act.
And yes, Audi is perfectly fine now after making full recovery.
Finn’s Law is for all the animals that are working for the police. This includes dogs, horses and whatever the animal is. Even if the attack was done on these animals is convicted as a defense attack.
