A YouTuber from Kentucky is being praised all over the world after he was seen leaving hand sanitizers and packs of toilet tissues for the delivery guys.
Evan Era put bundles of toilet papers and branded hand sanitizers on his front porch as a gesture to support the delivery men who are doing their duties during the deadly pandemic.
To encourage the couriers, Era placed a signboard, saying: “Delivery drivers: Take it if you need it! Thank you for your hard work.”
One of the videos posted by Era on his social media channels showed a driver taking snaps of the note and free display.
To make sure if the things were really meant to be taken away by the delivery persons, the driver knocked at the door and asked Era: “Can we take one of these?”
Era said: “Yeah man, that’s for you.”
The driver was extremely thankful because toilet papers and sanitizers have almost disappeared from the stores due to panic-buying.
He said: “Aw man, you’re a lifesaver, thank you. I went to Walmart, it’s kind of hard, though… I didn’t get no toilet paper… thank you, man.”
Another video showed a person who supplied groceries to Era’s home and was shocked on seeing the signboard. He also called him, asking ‘are these for me?’
After realizing that he could take some, the man thanked Era four times.
Revealing how the gesture made the day for delivery persons, Era appealed everyone to do the same. He said: “Take care of the people who are taking care of you.
“We had more than we needed and wanted to give back.”
Era explained that his family used to buy things of daily use in large volume even before the pandemic.
After the US announced a lockdown, panic-buyers didn’t spare any piece of sanitizers, paper towels, tissues, and daily items in the stores.
Now when market giants have guaranteed that the shortage is temporary, people who hoarded wipes or sanitizers earlier are trying to barter them with eggs and other products through social media groups.
