According to surveys and statistics, 43 percent of the lions in Africa is lost, and elephants will also disappear in one lifetime.
Loss of habitat and poachers are responsible for this.
However, few people in this world love animals and cannot stay away from them. They offer help to the animal kingdom during the poaching crisis.
Dean Schneider is one such person. He was a successful person from Switzerland who was young when he decided to leave his comfortable life and help the animals of Africa.
Thus he quitted his job and sold his property and all other things and shifted to Africa. He had only one motto that was to help animals in need. Dean was a citizen of Zurich in Switzerland.
He fell in love with wildlife at a young age. From a young age he has been supporting several animal saving projects, and these have always meant a lot to Dean.
Dean Schneider was a financial planner who sold everything he had in his country to follow his passion for saving animals from all types of danger.
He stood firm on his decision and later started his project with the money he had in Africa. Initially, he did not receive any support from his family and friends, but when they realized the importance of wildlife in the life of Dean, they accepted his way of living and new work. He named his project ‘HakunaMipaka’ meaning no limit.
The Hakuna is now a sanctuary that is home to many animals that have been abused by poachers. There are wild rescued animals, captive breeds and many wild roaming animals.
Some of these animals were even rescued from private zoos where the zoo owners kept them in poor, unhealthy and miserable conditions.
Often people put forward the question that why did Dean not put back some of the animals in the sanctuary into wild and he has a simple answer to this.
He believes bred animals do not know how to hunt and therefore cannot survive without the help of humans.
