A man has lost his job after sharing a meme on Facebook about pooing at work.
Cody Hidalgo posted a meme on his personal Facebook page that shows Elmo sitting on the toilet with a hilarious caption that says: “Boss makes a dollar, I make a dime. That’s why I poop on company on time.”
Cody explained that he shared the meme on Sunday when he was not at work. However, he received a heavy and confusing message from his boss, who wanted to fire him because of the Elmo meme.
“We don’t make dollar when you’re s***ting all the time. Why don’t you stay home and do your s***ting,” his boss’s message reads.
“I don’t like to play your bulls*** games. Maybe [there’s] a company out there that would put up with your games [because] I won’t. Good luck!”
Cody, who was clearly confused by the message, replied to his boss and said: “What are you talking about?”
His boss then told him to look at his Facebook page and Cody replied: “Because I shared a funny meme…? On a Sunday? When I’m not at work?”
“You brought work into it on a Sunday,” his boss replied.
Cody then asked his boss if he was really getting fired for sharing a meme.
People have been commenting saying how unfair it was, with one Facebook user saying: “You could take that to court for wrongful dismissal.”
Another wrote: “You have it set on friends status…so it’s an invasion of privacy. Plus He/she/ it sent you a very vulgar message. I believe I turn it in to corporate, your lawyer. Sue the boss.”
Someone commented: “Sounds like he just needed a reason to fire you and this was it. PS. I would fire someone with this mentality also if I didn’t already like them.”
Many people then rushed to the company’s Face page and posted hilarious memes. It has been temporarily shut down to make sure ‘the recommendations being left are genuine and follow policies.’
