A man who married the love of his life has opened up about the struggles their relationship had endured.
26-year-old Miguel Oliveira is a Portuguese MotoGP racer who married 25-year-old Andreia Pimenta, his stepsister.
As the couple, who are not blood relatives, revealed, they met each other at the age of 13 after Andreia’s mom and Miguel’s dad tied the knot.
After falling in love with each other at a young age, Miguel and Andreia kept their relationship hidden from their family for 11 years before tying the knot.
“This weekend we made the most important curve of our lives. We sealed our love through marriage and we want to share it with you,” Miguel announced in his Instagram post.
“I feel happy and lucky to share my life with my wife who is my other half. Thank you all #justmarried #love”
Shortly after, the pair also confirmed that they are expecting their first baby.
“Our lives will carry out with a special company. A job that will last the rest of our journey. Anxious to meet you my love,” Miguel added.
As The Sun reported, the motorcycle racer previously also opened up about his relationship while speaking to TV presenter Manuel Luis Goucha.
“Before love there was a great friendship. We grew up together. At some point we realized that it was more than a friendship, it is a very strong love,” Miguel expressed.
“We were going to get married this year, but that weekend I had a race and we had to postpone it next year.”
Congratulations to the happy couple!
