A man from the UK has surprised his neighbors after cooking and delivering 80 warm meals during the lockdown.
Tom Marsden is a hardworking husband and dad from Greater Manchester who was determined to give back to his community after a friend left a comforting present in front of his home.
And so, Mr. Marsden did some shopping and decided to lift his neighbors’ spirits by cooking a warm curry meal for them.
“It all stemmed from a friend of ours. A couple of weeks ago she dropped a miniature bottle of Prosecco and a bunch of flowers off at our front door. She did it for about 10 of our friends, so it was just a random act of kindness when everyone’s a bit down and gloomy,” the father said in an interview with LADbible.
“I do actually really enjoy cooking, and I thought about how on a Friday night everyone’s struggling to get a takeaway.”
As the man, who is still working full-time, went on to say, he delivered the 80 meals he prepped to two dozen families in total, whereas each package included a meat and vegan dish.
“I didn’t realize quite what a mammoth undertaking it would be. I started cooking on Wednesday night – I made the base curry sauce on Wednesday night, and then I was still going on Friday lunchtime. But we got them all out in the end!” Marsden told LADbible.
According to the man, his project was a big success whereas plenty of people allegedly texted him to express their gratitude after receiving delicious meals at their doorsteps.
