Stranger Stood In Rain To Pay Respect To Passing Funeral Procession


There are few people who think much for others and do things without any benefit.

Thankfully, the world has still some kind of people.

A driver’s simple gesture for a funeral procession shows that there are still good hearted people in this world, and his message of respect and compassion toward a stranger has touched our hearts.

A driver saw an unidentified man from Bloomington, Indiana, and the man just grabs the attention of the driver because of the way he showed respect for a funeral procession driving through the city.

Joy Wagler said she was driving through Bloomington when she caught a man stopped his truck at the sight of the line of cars passing by in the opposite direction.

She said the unidentified man got out of his vehicle, removed his hat, stood in the pouring rain and bowed his head in solemn silence as the funeral procession passed.

Wagler was touched by the stranger’s compassion and she shared this beautiful and touching moment on Facebook.

“I have to give a shout out to this guy in Bloomington,” Joy Wagler, who posted the photo, wrote on Facebook. “I don’t know him, but he is a wonderful example of how we need to act when a funeral procession comes through while we are driving.

“Not only did he pull over and stop, but he got out of his truck, took his hat off and stood (in the rain) with his hat on his chest and head bowed!” she continued.

“This was longer than the average funeral procession and he didn’t move until it was over,” Wagler wrote. “Unfortunately this is something that has been lost with a lot of people.”

“He showed so much respect,” Wagler wrote.

She loved the man’s kind act and describes it as inspiring and encouraging, and wanted to appreciate him for his respectful attitude.

“It was a good reminder to me that we should never be so busy and so much in a hurry that we forget to show compassion and respect for our fellow men,” Wagler concluded.
