To counter his low self-esteem and anxiety, the young man decided to undergo a series of cosmetic procedures with the first one taking place when he was just 19.

“When I was a kid, I used to be so insecure because I’m gay and I felt so ugly and out of place. As the years went on, I developed more insecurities. I started to suffer from social anxiety and panic attacks because I never felt accepted,” Chavez, who is originally from Mexico, said.

“I wasn’t happy at all because I always felt judged by people around me. I started to see celebrities changing their appearance through surgeries, so I decided to make some changes.”

As the hairdresser added, his first addition were fillers that made his nose look symmetrical. Following the successful procedure, he went on to get fillers in his lips, cheeks, chin, and forehead as well.

“I started to get inspired by Ken dolls, because they’re so perfect, but they’re all different shapes and colors. I feel like beauty is whatever people want it to be. Everybody can be the Ken doll or the Barbie they want to be,” Chavez says.

Following several other procedures, including a hair transplant and ‘fox eye’, the young man has no intention of slowing down, whereas he now feels more confident than ever.

Though he absolutely loves the change, Chavez admitted that his new appearance came at a big cost. Not only did the 29-year-old spend over $8,000 on plastic surgeries but he now also finds it harder to date because many men find him too feminine for their taste.

“Men don’t really like my look because I look ‘too gay’ or ‘too feminine’ but I’m not too bothered about it because I love myself. I work on my look for my own acceptance, not theirs,” Chavez expressed.

“I want to spread the message that there are so many faces of beauty – and that’s okay. We’re all beautiful – all of us have insecurities, but that’s fine.

“I’m not saying that everyone should get surgery, but if you think there’s something that you can change to make you feel better, do it for you. Don’t follow trends, find your own beauty.”
