A man was refused at Nando’s because the staff didn’t believe his name was Mr.
Chicken.
When Steve Chicken headed to a Nando’s branch in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, he had to wait as there were no seats available.
After waiting for a few minutes, he came to know that his name was skipped on the waiting list for a table.
The waiter thought a staff member had played a prank when he saw the name Mr. Chicken on the waiting list.
After the incident, Steve, who is a reporter for ExaminerLive, shared the incident on Twitter and wrote: “The waiter in Nando’s just skipped our name on the waiting list for a table because she thought it was a joke.”
The post instantly went viral online and everyone shared their views on the story.
Some even started sharing their own stories as one person named Wai Ting wrote: “At least you can avoid Nando’s. I have to avoid lists.”
But the most amazing reply to his post was from the Burger King who wrote: “Change your surname to Steven Whopper and dinner’s on us.”
Later, the man shared that he shared the incident as he found it funny and he has no complaint about the error.
He wrote: “It wasn’t a big deal at all really, but we knew we were meant to be next and we watched her pick up the clipboard, look confused, call the people after us, then go and ask her colleague, who had written our name down.”
“Then we were also seated pretty much immediately.”
