35 Year Old Man Saved $100,000 In Just 7 Years Staying In A Small House and Plans to Retire at the Age of 40

In just 7 years, this 35 years old person has saved around $100,000 and also cleared the student loans, travelled around the world and started his own business successfully.

He has built his home in just 150 square feet that is tiny yet beautiful. Though this person is living in a small home, he leads a quality life like others. This has helped him to reap more opportunities.

In the year 2009, he received a degree from Western Carolina University and completed his masters in Human resources and he worked for six months in the first company, which he calls it to be the first adult job for him.

After six months, he lost the job and found himself to be in a difficult situation. The first company in which he worked was closed suddenly one day. The day when he lost his first job, he felt helpless.

This is the point when he realized to keep control on his expenses.

He got to learn that half of his earnings are going off in insurance, paying rents and maintenance. Therefore, he wanted to totally remove housing from his monthly budget to lead a better life later.

He learnt about the tiny house movement while browsing on the Internet, which rung the bell in his head. He used the information that is gathered from the internet to build his own home that is tiny.

He used to work with the non-profit organization during the weekday and over the weekend he used to allocate time to construct the tiny home. He has invested USD 30,000 to buy the materials to build the home and install solar panels.

He did not hire labor instead he worked on his own but took the help of a plumber and electrician. It took one and a half year to finish constructing the home.

While building this tiny home, he was unsure whether he would be able to live in it or not, but he convinced himself to live in that home for at least two years. Prior to this, he used to share an apartment with another person.

He realized that he did not need many things that are in the apartment for which he is paying unnecessarily. He moved to the tiny home.

He sold many unnecessary things and kept only the needful things with him such as books and other utensils. He also pays tax for that tiny home.

There is ample ventilation for this 150 square feet home. There is a kitchen, counters and a wardrobe that is built in this tiny home.

There is also a living room, queen size bed, and bathroom. However, he does not have a guest room. He had some cash that is left after constructing the home, which he used $20,000 to set up a new business.

He started a co-working space and sold off for profits. He also wrote a book about this tiny home. He wanted to live in a traditional home in the future. He is saving a lot of money to retire at the age of 40.
