A 52 years old man who was suffering from coronavirus had already bid his goodbye to his wife and his kids.
He said that there was no chance he thought he could survive on Friday night.
He had spent 5 days in ICU and was unable to breathe.
Then his friend named Rio Giardinieri called and told him about the drug hydroxychloroquine that was working on coronavirus patients.
He then contacted a doctor and consulted about the drug.
The doctor told him that the drug is still under test for the virus but yes it has worked on several patients.
Rio said he took the drug in the night and in the morning he felt normal.
Top infectious disease expert of the government Dr. Anthony Fauci said that this is too soon to say anything about the drug.
He warned everyone against considering the drug for coronavirus just yet.
He said “So many things we hear are in my terms called anecdotal reports.
The reports may be fact-based but they are just the anecdotes.
It did work a couple of times but to find if it really works, one has to try the drug several times to see the reaction and derive information from the same.
Rio said that he had a high fever for 5 long days. His back was severely and constantly hurting, he had a headache, cough, and his body was tired.
He said that while he usually slept for 5 hours, he had started sleeping for 15 hours a day amid the infection.
Rio said his doctor denied from seeing him. He then had to travel to Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital in Hollywood, Florida.
Before he could get himself checked, he passed out because of pneumonia and fever.
He said that he tested positive and after that, he spent a week in ICU but still could not breathe right.
