Dating is never easy, and with all the expectations flying around, things can get pretty stressful and unpleasant at times.
However, with the technology at our hands, there are now numerous apps such as Tinder that can help you meet new people and learn more about them online.
This gives people an opportunity to find their match or end the dating before it actually begins. Furthermore, if it turns out that the person they’re talking to isn’t the one, everything can quickly end without any awkwardness.
While this kind of blind-dating comes with such benefits, it also has its own set of setbacks. As the guy in this story found out, you can never really know who you’re talking to until they appear right at your doorstep.
30-year-old comedian Martin Miller signed up on Tinder after breaking up with his girlfriend. According to him, he didn’t want to look for girls elsewhere which are why he decided to find one online.
And soon enough he did, or at least he thought he did.
“I match with this girl and she looks nice, she’s pretty, looks like she’s got a nice personality, she’s got pictures on her Instagram account so I know she’s real and I decide to give her a message,” the comedian said.
“She’s a bit younger than me in her early twenties and she probably parties more than I do, probably goes to clubs more than I do now, but I decide to try and come across fun.”
According to Miller, however, the girl’s idea of fun included the use of weed. While the comedian explained he doesn’t do drugs, he pretended that he’s okay with it to get the girl to come over to his apartment.
Eventually, the girl also asked him if he had “anything stronger” to which the desperate 30-year-old responded by saying yes. Another mistake.
“I gave her my address and said see you in 30 minutes. I get all dolled up, fix the hair, put on my nice shirt and the door knocks.
“I open the door expecting to see the next love of my life the woman I’m going to marry and what did I see standing in front of me? Three uniformed police officers with a search warrant.
“Turns out the police were using fake Tinder accounts to catch people who said they were hoarding drugs in their house.
“So rather than impressing some chick with my witty banter, I’m stood here having to clean up the aftermath of a police raid in my house.”
Lesson learned the hard way. Don’t pretend that you have drugs just to make men or women come over to your apartment.
