A man wearing a werewolf mask has been arrested for walking around the streets to scare people on New Year’s Eve.
Asad Khan from Peshawar, Pakistan, was making roaring sounds while riding his motorcycle, according to the Indian Express.
But when he was detained by police after annoyed residents reported him, he explained that he was not trying to scare children on the streets.
“He was reportedly making roaring noises while riding his motorcycle,” a report by Saama TV said.
However, Khan explained that he was simply obeying the rule to wear a mask amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
People were quick to howl at the photos of the furry suspect, who was seen wearing his werewolf mask while being chained by a police officer.
One Twitter user commented: “People get scared of the dude and don’t come out on new year during Covid times, everyone stays safe. Isn’t this a good thing?”
Another wrote: “Maybe he didn’t want to take risk in such epidemic. That mask is a foolproof weapon for fighting against Covid-19.”
A third added: “He was reported to the police by a girl wearing a red riding hood.”
Someone else added: “So much respect for the police keeping the mask on him even after they’ve arrested him.”
Another shared: “Because he’s the hero Peshawar deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So they’ll hunt him. Because he can take it. Because he’s not our hero. He’s a silent guardian. A watchful protector. A Dank Fright.”
