The man who once competed on a wide ground of grass in an NFL field has walked into a new fight this time and this fight is so much tougher.
Coronavirus is making its way through the country, making thousands of people sick every single day.
The third-year neurosurgery resident named Myron Rolle works at the Massachusetts General Hospital. Ever since the outbreak, he has taken several patients under his care.
He says that the neurosurgical floor of the hospital has entirely filled up with patients of COVID-19. He says that even though he is a neurosurgeon, the situation has been hectic.
Just 10 years ago, when Rolle had no idea he was going to be turning into a doctor someday, he decided to do something else. He was selected in the 2010 NFL Draft and played with the franchise for 3 years as a defensive back.
He always had a dream of becoming a neurosurgeon and perform surgeries on the brain. So in the year 2013, he decided to leave the NFL and enrolled himself in a medical school.
“We have a 24 hours shift running these days with a mask always on, policy.” He went to twitter and wrote that they have especially been instructed to always have their masks on.
They have also been instructed to give the medicines only when it is needed in a dire situation.
Talking about the situation in the hospital he said that he has never seen it before.
There are so many patients of COVID-19 that the hospital may even have to convert their operating rooms into ICUs to fight it. He says that the number of patients is rising every single day.
He said that every other person is under respiratory stress. And every other person is either a patient of the sickness or is a suspect of the same.
He says “The times are tough and to escape it, we all have to do our part without failing.”
