A guy has gone viral for winning a $4.
6 million jackpot after beating cancer not once but twice.
Stu MacDonald from Bend, Oregon, though he was the unluckiest man on the planet as he was diagnosed with cancer for the second time.
Nevertheless, he managed to not only beat the disease but also bag millions after paying for the winning ticket of Oregon’s Game Megabucks.
According to the official statement of the Oregon Lottery, the man won $4.6 million on a “quick pick ticket he purchased at Ashley’s Café on Northeast 3rd Street in Bend.
“MacDonald opted to take the bulk sum payment of $2.3 million, and after taxes took home $1.56 million.”
As Stu admitted, he loves to play the lottery, whereas his wife always tells him to “get the winning ticket” when he takes off.
“I am a very lucky guy. I have survived cancer twice and here I am. This is amazing,” he said.
According to KTVZ, one percent of the total winnings, $46,000, will also go to the Ashley’s Café in Bend’s Wagner Mall where Stu purchased the winning ticket.
“We are thrilled to learn that we sold a Megabucks jackpot. We are excited about the team who sold the ticket. A big congratulations to our guests on their windfall,” Ashley’s Director of Operations, Tezra Kong, said.
“Some of the seller’s bonus will go back to the team that strives to delight our guests every day here at Ashley’s in Wagner Mall.”
As for Stu, he can now consider himself ‘set for life’ and start thinking about how to spend and invest his money in the future.
