The man who claimed women over 50 are too old to love now said he ‘cannot stand’ dating white women.
The TV presenter and prize-winning writer, Yann Moix, made headlines after he said that it is no longer possible to love women over 50 and that he prefers ‘younger women’s bodies.’
In an interview, the French author refused to apologize for his comments but promised ‘an even bigger scandal’ by sharing more of his opinions on women.
“White western women tire me, they wear me out,” he shared. “They make my hair stand on end. I cannot stand them.”
“I am not criticizing their exterior intellectual and professional legitimacy or that of being a mother. I am saying that in the intimacy of a relationship they don’t bring me anything. I stopped going out with them a long time ago.”
Moix was criticized for being anti-feminist, misogynistic and ageist after his remarks, which were issued in the French edition of Marie Claire.
“Come on now, let’s not exaggerate. That’s [over 50] is not possible … too, too old,” he said. “The body of a 25-year-old woman is extraordinary. The body of a woman of 50 is not extraordinary at all.”
The French author was quickly criticized on social media. Some even branded him a ‘jerk’, ‘tacky’ and ‘pathetic’.
Moix explained to The Times he made the remarks after being questioned on his inability to have a stable relationship.
He defended his stance and said he thought of himself as immature and that women his age are not attracted to him. Moix also described himself as a ‘great feminist’.
The writer said he was more attracted to Asian women as they offer an ‘extraordinary’ link with ‘another cosmos’.
