A 23-year-old woman, from Atlanta, Georgia, USA, was bullied at her school because of her monobrow as bullies used to call her a ‘wolf’ and ‘Golden Arches’.
Joselyn Jones’ monobrow became the reason for her to get bullied at her school. The bullies at her school would call her a ‘wolf’ and even compared her brow to the McDonald’s logo.
She told SWNS: “When I was five years old I started noticing that everyone looked different to me. It made me a little uncomfortable. They began to tease me in kindergarten. I would beg and beg my mum to cut my eyebrows but she would never let me.”

“In school when I would walk down the hallways, older kids would make wolf sounds, like howling when I passed. It made me feel terrible. They would call me McDonald’s because they said my eyebrows looked like the logo.”
Joselyn, who would plead her mother Pamela Jones to allow her to wax it, has now embraced her monobrow.
Joselyn, who is a hairdresser, says that her parents allowed her to wax it when she was 10 but it was a painful thing to do due to their thickness.
She would groom her brows every morning and spend £8 weekly to groom them professionally.
However, when Joselyn welcomed her son Jeremiah, it became impossible for her to spend that much money on the grooming of her brows as she was the single mother.
In November 2017, she decided not to groom the brows for one month. Finally, she decided to stop grooming her brows and embrace her natural beauty.
She said: “I set myself a challenge that I wasn’t going to touch them or my hair for a whole month and save the money. At first, I was mortified when people would look at me. I felt like I was right back in school with those bullies.”
“But I soon realised if I didn’t love myself, nobody else would love me either. Now I love myself and my look too, which I think makes a huge difference.”
She is now very happy after embracing her natural beauty and feels more confident. She says it has also boosted her career in Atlanta.
She said: “It’s interesting because ever since I’ve grown my eyebrows, men are more interested in me. I think men are so used to seeing women in a certain way, that to see someone looking different is attractive.”
“I want young girls to learn from me and accept themselves. I want to be a resource for them. You don’t have to manipulate yourself to be beautiful. You are beautiful as you are”, she added.
