An accidental order of 2,306 tissue rolls left a couple shocked once they were delivered into their garage.
But they decided to roll with it and made a giant toilet paper throne to at least get some laughs out of their blunder.
Chris, 35, and Haidee Janetzki, 33, said they had accidentally ordered 48 boxes instead of 48 rolls which is why they were flabbergasted when their order was delivered to their Toowoomba, Australia, home.
The order cost the couple $3,260 (more than £1,600).
Instead of trying to find blame, they decided to see the humor in the situation and decided to arrange the boxes of toilet roll into a makeshift throne.
In the clip that they uploaded, Haidee is seen perched atop her throne wearing a toilet paper crown while holding a toilet roll scepter.
The boxes were also arranged into a sturdy-looking wall positioned at the side of their garage, showing just how much they had to work with.
Haidee told ABC News: “It asked for the quantity and I wrote 48 thinking I want a box with 48 rolls in it.
“A couple of days later, I got an email saying the order was on the way, and that was all good.
“On a Monday there was a knock at the door at it was the courier. He said, ‘I’ve got two pallets of toilet paper for you.’
“We checked the credit card statement to try to figure out what’d gone wrong and turned out I’d ordered 48 boxes, so it was legitimately my mistake.”
The couple, who have four kids in the house with them, will take roughly 12 years to finish all the rolls at their current rate of consumption.point 376 |
While they at least don’t have to worry about running out any time soon, they did decide to put up a Very Cr*ppy Fundraiser where they sell the rolls to help fund their daughter’s school trip to Canberra and Sydney.point 188 | 1
Although the company did offer to take the toilet paper back and refund them, the fundraiser had already been set up.
Curiously enough, the couple had put their order in weeks before the panic-buying of toilet paper from the coronavirus fears.
Photos showed empty shelves throughout Australia as people rushed to buy as much toilet paper as they could fit in their carts.
Chris added: “I’m a pastor of a church and so a friend said, ‘How prophetic are you to be able to see the future and know there was going to be a toilet paper shortage?'”
