While his public videos were quick to go viral and make rounds on the internet, Scheller was banned from speaking out on social media by his superiors.

The Marine, however, refused to budge and went on to speak his mind before officially submitting a resignation letter on August 31.

Now, the father of the dedicated Marine spoke out and claimed that his son has been jailed at the Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune military prison where he is awaiting a hearing.

Following the public outrage, Marine Corps confirmed that the serviceman is awaiting a hearing at the military prison. They insisted, however, that he will receive a just trial.

Blasting the Marines for jailing his son, Stuart Scheller Sr suggested that the Marine of 17 years was imprisoned for speaking the truth.

In an interview with DailyMail.com, the upset father said:

“It’s outrageous. Our son is a warrior. He has been a marine for the past 17 years, highly decorated and perhaps considered in the top 1% of Marine Corps officers.

“He could not stand by and could not fathom the botched withdrawal from Afghanistan. He was asking for accountability, honest answers, and confessions of mistakes that were made.”

Stuart Scheller Sr added:

“They have turned their backs on him. They have tried to shut him up with a gag order, and when that didn’t work, they have put him in jail. It’s shameful!”
