Meghan Markle, the wife of Prince Harry of England, has reportedly felt extremely stressed and did not feel like the rest of the royal family did enough to protect her during her pregnancy.
This sentiment was disclosed in a lawsuit Markle filed against British media.
According to the BBC, the Duchess of Sussex opened up about the difficult time she had at Buckingham Palace in a lawsuit against the various derivatives of the Daily Mail, which she has said were the worst when it came to spreading falsities regarding her time in the palace.
Media sources that had access to the lawsuit said that Markle felt like like she was left to the wolves during her pregnancy – an attack that she could not prepare nor defend herself because of her royalty status.
In the BBC report of the charges that Markle filed, she is said to have gone enormous stress while she was in the palace because the British tabloids, famously focused on everything related to the royalty, were so busy spreading fake news about Markle without consulting her.
One of the criticisms that Markle faced when she was still actively serving as a member of the royalty was the she used her friends to handle and relay everything that was related to her. According to the legal documents, she attributes this necessity to the viciousness of the media.
It is in fact true that Markle’s friends were the ones that usually came to explain or defend the Duchess’ positions by giving lengthy interviews with the press.
Not only did the friends feel the need to step up because they had never seen their usually jovial friend in such state, but also because Markle’s friends all agreed that the Palace wasn’t doing enough to speak up for her.
This is not the only legal conundrum that the Duchess is involved in. Markle has also sued the Associated Press for reporting about a letter that her father wrote to her back in 2018.
While the publisher has denied any wrongdoing over the report, Markle has argued that the piece violated her privacy even though she was an active royalty back then.
