At least one person died and several were left injured after a gunman opened fire at a business park in Texas.
The mass shooting took place in Bryan, Texas, where an unidentified shooter, who is believed to be a Kent Moore Cabinets employee, started shooting at people at the company’s headquarters on Thursday afternoon.
Following the deadly shooting, KBTX confirmed that the gunman managed to critically injure four people and fatally shoot one at the business park.
“Officers responded and they found several victims. They were checking the area, checking the building and looking for more victims,” Bryan Police Lt. Jason James said during a press conference as he confirmed the gunman was already gone when they arrived.
According to Rusty Surette of KBTX, the police “are speaking w employees at Kent Moore Cabinets to get statements about incident. That may explain why some people can’t get in touch with relatives who work there now.”
As KBTX later reported, a Texas State Trooper reportedly got shot while pursuing the suspect in nearby Iola, Grimes County. The information was also confirmed by the Texas Department of Public Safety.
“A DPS Trooper was shot while pursuing an individual suspected of being involved in the shooting in Bryan. He remains in serious but stable condition,” Texas DPS tweeted.
As of this writing, the investigation is ongoing and the authorities have yet to confirm whether the suspect in custody is responsible for the Bryan business shooting.
