In Orange, California, a mass shooting had occurred on the night of March 31st, 2021.
It happened in a business complex where the criminal had personal relationships with the victims.
Lt. Jennifer Amat, Orange Police spokesperson, tells sources: ” The preliminary motive is believed to be related to a business and personal relationship which existed between the suspect and all of the victims.”
The crime is supposedly not a random act, the victims are not identified but there were four victims, including a 9-year-old boy.
The boy is believed to be the son of the victims who worked at the business complex. There was another victim, not dead but fatally injured, who was taken to a nearby hospital.
Police responded to the shots around 5:30 pm, the shots had been firing off inside the business complex once they arrive. They couldn’t go through the front door since it had been locked from the inside, having to enter the courtyard, where they found the suspect and took him into custody.
Alongside the suspect, they found the boy and woman who survived the attack. Todd Spitzer, District Attorney, tells sources: “It appears that a little boy died in his mother’s arms as she was trying to save him during this horrific massacre.”
The other victims were found in the complex, and the suites they belonged to all were employed under Unified Homes, a business that helped specialize real estate between mobile homes.
California Gov. Gavin Newsom comments on the incident in a tweet: “Horrifying and heartbreaking. Our hearts are with the families impacted by this terrible tragedy tonight.”
Mass shootings have been on the rise ever since the year has started, more incidents are reported and witnessed every day. When analyzing the area, police found a semi-automatic handgun, pepper spray, handcuffs, and ammunition, leaving the assumptions for these items to belong to the suspect.
If one were to count how many mass shootings have occurred within the year, this is at least the 20th mass shooting that is reported. The news of this mass shooting drew out condemnation.
