McDonald’s is launching its first-ever vegan meal next month which is definitely good news for all the vegans out there.
McDonald’s will be launching its new Veggie Dippers made from red pepper, rice, sundried tomato pesto and split peas, in crispy breadcrumbs in the New Year.
The dippers can be ordered with fries and a drink for £4.99 as a meal or you can also order a Veggie Dippers Happy Meal consisting of two dippers, a vegan-friendly side (vegetable bag, fruit bag or fries) and water or a Fruit Shoot for £2.99 or you can also buy four of them for £3.29.
The head of food marketing at McDonald’s UK and Ireland, Thomas O’Neill, said: “In the last 12 months we’ve seen an 80% uplift in customers ordering vegetarian options at McDonald’s, so it is time for the brand famous for the dippable McNugget to launch a dippable option for our vegetarian, vegan and flexitarian customers.
“The Veggie Dippers are a delicious addition to our menu and we’re looking forward to seeing what customers make of our first vegan Extra Value Meal and Happy Meal in the New Year.”
The vegans are happy and appreciated the decision of McDonald’s to introduce a vegan meal. One user commented: ‘Even though I’m not vegan this looks really nice’ while another added: ‘I think it’s great. This maybe the first Vegan food someone who likes McDonald’s will try. Also it brings Vegan food into a new forum which can’t be bad’.
Not only McDonald’s, but Gregg’s also introduced its vegan sausage roll in January which became a huge hit and vegans absolutely loved it.
Now, waiting for McDonald’s Veggie Dippers Happy Meal. It will be interesting to see whether it becomes a hit or fails to impress the vegans.
