Georgia Kenny is a homeless teenager who has claimed that a McDonald’s worker dumped a bucket of water near her as she slept outside the restaurant, leaving her and her belongings soaking wet.

The 19-year-old said she had been on the streets for a year following a break up with her partner and she frequently sleeps outside the McDonald’s in Leicester as it is open 24 hours and she feels safe there.

However, she claims a worker recently dumped water near her and she woke up with her sleeping bag and clothes soaked with water.

She said: “I woke up and could feel wet on the back of my leg. This [worker] was pouring a large bucket of water under me, wetting my sleeping bag and all my clothes.

“I told him he could have woken me up first and get me to move instead of doing it while I was sleeping.

“It was very cold this morning and now I have to stay in wet things all day and hope my sleeping bag and blanket dries out before tonight.

“My shoes were also stolen in the night, my socks were soaking wet and I’ve had to borrow a pair of shoes from a mate.”

She added: “Two passers-by saw what was happening and told him he was out of order.

“He doesn’t like us homeless. He gave no explanation why he hadn’t woken me.

“It’s disgusting what he did to me. I sleep there because I feel safe. The lights are on in the restaurant all night and there is a camera right above me. I sleep quite good.

“Most people are quite nice, really and polite, you hardly ever get a rude person.”

She added: “I don’t like hostels because there’s lots of drug taking and although I used to take drugs I’ve been clean for seven or eight weeks now.

“But I can’t do this anymore. This has just topped things off. I’m hoping to see my mom today, so we’ll see what happens.”

Simon Clayton, a council worker, was on his way to work and said, “I could see the pavement was wet and as I got closer to McDonald’s this guy smirked and chucked the water under the rough sleeper. He did not try and wake her up.”

Clayton claimed: “It was assault. I have reported it to the police and I have been back to see her to tell her I suggest she does the same.

“I understand businesses may not want rough sleepers outside their premises, but that is just not on.”

Artist Leila Houston remarked: “I was cycling past at 7:05 am.

“The [worker] poured water all over the pavement all around the girl who had slept rough all night outside the property.

“Someone stole her shoes in the night, her only socks were soaked and two coats and a sleeping bag. She said she was sleeping at the time.”

She added: “I helped her move her stuff out of the way, gave her a hug and she cried.

“Remarks from other members of staff included ‘she was asked to move’ and ‘she is on our property.’

“I am totally outraged the [worker] was actually smirking when I said his behavior was disgusting and walked off when I said I could tell he was lying when he told me he asked her to move.

“I am still upset and shocked.”

A McDonald’s spokesperson told The Sun Online: “We apologize for this incident.

“Although the person in question was asked to move by a crew member initially, we appreciate that more consideration needs to be shown in the future and we are addressing the matter with the employees involved.”
