As if the job of servers wasn’t stressful enough on its own, they sometimes have to go through crazy situations and deal with unpleasant customers.
While some can hardly adjust to this kind of work, others are doing their job with a smile on their face. As it happens, some even become heroes during their everyday work routine!
One such hero is a 22-year-old Pedro Viloria who works at McDonald’s branch in Doral, Florida. One day, when everything seemed as usual, a woman pulled up to the drive-thru window with her kids in the car.
While this is nothing uncommon, Pedro soon realized that something was off about the situation. While serving the family in SUV, the young man noticed the mother wasn’t in good shape.
Then, the mom’s kids began screaming: “Mother, mother! Stop it! Mother, what are you doing?!’”
After that, the car slowly started moving, and it appeared as if the woman wasn’t able to control it anymore. At that point, Pedro’s instincts kicked in, and he immediately jumped out of the service window.
He ran towards the car and managed to stop it just as it was nearing the driveway curve. Then, Pedro told the kids to call 911, while his co-worker, who decided to remain anonymous, performed CPR.
In the meanwhile, a firefighter just entered the store and noticed that something was off as well. He and his partner rushed to the woman in distress, who was later revealed to be an off-duty police officer.
Thanks to Pedro’s quick action and the help of his co-worker, the emergency services arrived on time, and the life of the mother was saved.
Ever since the event, Pedro and his anonymous colleague have been named heroes of the McDonald’s Doral branch. They continue serving the people while the world salutes their swift actions.
