JK Rowling is a name the entire world knows.
The woman created a world of magic and we all cannot be grateful enough to her.
Harry Potter is till date the most popular book and it looks like it is going to stay for a very long time. JK Rowling made millions and millions of dollars with the series and is the richest author in the world.
The woman has now taken a great step towards humanity as she donated £15.3m in the name of her late mother to help researchers at the University of Edinburgh.
The donation made by Rowling will directly go to build new and better facilities at Anne Rowling Regenerative Neurology Clinic with an aim to give the doctors better opportunity to find ways in which they can treat the patients of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s.
JK Rowling built the center back in 2010 in the memory of her mother Anne Rowling, who died in 1990 due to complications developed because of MS when she was 45 years old.
Rowling said “None of us could have predicted at the time when the clinic was founded that will help in the growth of the field of regenerative neurology.
She added that it is a matter of pride for her that the clinic has taken steps to help people suffering from MS. She says that she knows the pain and struggle an MS patient has to go through and this is why the work of the clinic makes her feel proud.
Vice-chancellor of University, Prof Peter Mathieson said “The generous amount of donation is going to help a lot to a completely new generation of researchers who are focused to discover for the betterment of the world in a way that they can give better treatments and therapy to the patients.
