The Duchess of Sussex was recently accused of lobbying US senators to vote for paid parental leave.

Republicans and Democrat politicians have reported that there were phone calls made showing “caller ID blocked” before hearing an introduction.

“This is Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex,” the intro says.

Meghan’s cold calling received heavy backlash from Royal fans as the Royal Family is known to be traditionally neutral in politics.

Royal watchers are now calling out the 40-year-old to not use her title when politics are involved.

Andrew Sorkin, the founder of DealBook, told Meghan that people in the audience may be thinking that “she has this great privilege.”

“How is this and why is this her topic?” Sorkin told Meghan. “So I thought we’d start there.”

To which Meghan replied: “Sure. Let’s start there.”

“I mean, I think you mentioned privilege,” she said. “My husband has always said, with great privilege comes great responsibility.”

“Even before I had any sort of privilege in my life when my life and my lifestyle were very, very different, I always just stood up for what was right,” she explained. “And so I had been gone from the US for a really long time.”

“I lived in Canada for seven years for work, and moved to the UK and to come back and now be a mother of two and to see that the US is one of only six countries in the entire world that doesn’t offer any form of national paid leave just didn’t make sense.”

“So I guess my approach was the same as it’s been since I was really young,” The Duchess of Sussex continued. “When I was 11 and I saw something that was wrong on TV, I put pen to paper and wrote a letter about it.”

“So on this I said, well, let me write a letter and let me pick up the phone and he calls and see if I can help,” she said. “It’s just, to me it seems like a really logical and obvious thing to do.”

Meanwhile, The Times reported that Buckingham Palace insists that the Royal Family should have “no say in American politics.”

“The Duchess of Sussex is using her title out of context for political lobbying,” the senior royal sources have claimed.

It is known that the Royal Family are “above politics” and apolitical, as they fear that an opinion expressed on the matter could be interpreted as an endorsement.
